One last OTF

This is the last OTF that I haven't posted a pic of on here. I'm sure it's a clone of some design but I don't know what maker that would be. It's only marking is "stainless" on the blade. I used to have one I liked better, a Paragon clone. I snapped the blade in two using it to pry up a vent cover.

I believe that's referred to as "The Joker" knife from one of the Batman movies. It's a clone of a model made by Robbie Dalton called "Cupid".

Real popular for awhile after the movie(s). Just like the Tomb raiders.

I think that they're a great knife. Simple to operate and the design is robust. (Simple is often better).

I only wish the handle wasn't so chunky. The Paragon clone was so much more streamlined with the same exact mechanics. I really wanted to replace its blade with the one out of this, but it just wasn't going to happen.

That's the Chinese knives for you, they pump them out like water and sell them as cheaply as they're able. While not complete junk, the knives haven't garnered a great reputation.

Always wanted one of the cupid clones but at that time I wanted many knives I liked and saw here on TB .
I had to settle for an assisted opener from Germany.by Tacforce ,cheap as chips ,but would love a good otf clone as an example .
The real cupids are ...and were back then ,probably well out of my budget .

That one looks to have trimmed a bit of bulk compared to mine. How does an assisted opening work on an OTF?

I think its a side opener, that is made to look like an OTF. Ive seen spring assisted side openers that is made to look like balisong knives too.

TMD, I wondered if that was the case. The slot in the blade would be superfluous, then. It's the weak point that certainly contributed to the demise of my blade. Not to say that I shouldn't have known better than to use it as a prybar.

It is operated by a torsion spring and when you push the lever the spring releases the blade .

Yes it is indeed a side opener made to look like an otf ,stupid really, it was just a cheap buy at the time about 15 euros back then .

The kandar spring assist is surprisingly good and a well built knife for the small money I paid .I just liked the looks of it
The black otf "clone "was sent with a blue one as an apology ,as the seller didnt have the knife I had ordered in stock .They are very "cheap and cheerful "click therapy when I first started out collecting .

Ian I did a little looking on Kandar and they have some very attractive fixed blade designs for surprisingly low prices. I'm finding the best variety is available outside the US, though.
