Re: Latama switchblades
I am a gun guy, However got into the knife thing over 45 years ago, Samurai swords, bayonets, switch's and all. cut it down to maybe around 50 keepers out of hundreds and i do mean 100's...and decided to try some Latamas, have a bunch of Franks B. AND THE SKM LINE ALSO.like i said just bought 5 to try them out.on the last 2 great. the other 3 which cost me $1,700.00 i was so so. I will keep them.I look at it like a $1,700 buck gun. bought it, okay with it, safe it away, and forget about it.Its like a pair of old Smiths YOU BOUGHT FOR $3,000.00 and you don't want to sell. and not really use anymore. keep and forget...I always figured. you can get the dough back someday...

Re: Latama switchblades
The only problem with new or minty vintage stuff. you really can't shoot it anymore. for fear of damage or more wear. some laugh and say what!! well lets see have a new 1960 Colt dick special and get $1,200.00 versus a shot and used one for $800.00 I would rather have the extra $400.00 come sales time. and also it costs dough to go out and blast a few 100 rds today, shoot 4 times a year. that is a easy $4g
for some that might be pocket change. for others that gets high nowadays....buy a couple $200 a knife, it gets shown, handled and used. one for well over a $1,000 plus. its in the box.
i also never have had a problem selling. As most buyers like brand new.

Re: Latama switchblades
Ok, this is Squire 8o with a little tail between my legs- I have pretty much fallen in love with the Latima's and they seem to love me right back. I have bought four new since the start of this thread and the switchblade gods are smiling on me--One with the black horn, a black and white, a honey horn and one of the most beautiful multicolored lighter horns I have ever seen, and all are completely "right." I did get a gorgeous brown horn that had a couple issues and sent it back to Walt and he came through with the multicolored beauty as a replacement. I cannot
So at this point, my entire collection is Latamas, and Walt has been unbelievably fair and responsive --I do have on AGA Campolin swinguard sort of sulking over in the corner --
