Broken spring on Nato Military knife

Post by Randomized79 »

Hello, I have an old Nato Military knife that were made by edge co. I have one of those cheaper models I found out that have the leaf springs with hooks in order to catch the blade. I have the problem that one of these springs snapped and now I can’t use it anymore. I searched through the internet and couldn’t find anything.Where can I buy springs like that from ? Are there websites that sell them ? Any help would be appreciated

PS: I have the model that looks very similar to the „youth ac-88“ one

I Googled spring mfg see the link below; there must be a spring manufacturing company that can help. Or maybe someone has a broken knife for sale that you can buy for parts.

John beat me to the answer...
Are you sure you don't mean "coil spring"? Is it the spring that is stacked coils like you would find in a ball point pen?

Either way I don't think you will find a web site selling the specific part. You are probably going to have to make one or get lucky enough to find a parts knife or someone who has saved parts.

Most likely you'll have to find a parts knife. Someone on here likely has one.

I had one of these springs break on a NATO. Luckily I had a broken TOP Automatic OTF comb that had a similar latch spring. I took it and filed it down with a Dremel to fit the one that was in the NATO. Sure enough it worked and I got the NATO working again.
