For anyone who does not know, there were counterfeit versions of this knife that were not sold as such. Bill has served as an authenticator to answer the ...is it real...is it fake... question for some collectors. If I ever am in the position to buy one of these, I would ask for authentication before making the purchase.

I've had several Puma Springbock Models that were supposed to have been manufactured by Hubertus. Classic old German, Who built these??

XBMX - just to clarify, I wasn't referring to the newer etched models that you had (have?) and shared photos of. My reference is to tang stamped knives like the one in the photo, which are older. To my knowledge, there is nothing counterfeit about the etched knives.

Never run into many Puma marked levers when I was looking for knives in europe .
