Incredible knives Highspeedsteel 8)I have never seen the larger 15" size older knives.

Love the horn on that kris blade and the condition of both knives is amazing, the blades are so crisp.

Congrats on a really great find and thanks for the great pics to bring in the New Year.

I was thinking about that when I was driving back with them... hopefully more will surface with the passing of time, but I have to admit, it's pretty cool to find something that was thought to be relatively unknown for 50+ years!

Thank you everyone for the kind and encouraging words... I have only really been collecting for a couple years now and while I've found some pretty amazing stuff and seen some crazy scores during that time, this one is probably the cake-taker, honestly. Happy New Year indeed

TMK, the only information about Angelo Campolin, SR. making the big knives was that he began in the early 1960s. We know that is incorrect now!

I am still in disbelief, honestly... if only they could tell their true stories of all the hands and lives they've passed through before they find us!

There's STILL gold in them thar hills!

Thanks so much for the post. It provides me with hope.

To paraphrase Lone Watie (Chief Dan George in "The Outlaw Josey Wales"), I shall endeavor to persevere in my searches for such sweet rock candy!

Happy New Years gents and miscreants!

Thank you, Sir! It still feels like the score of a lifetime so I can't imagine what the next one could possibly be...

Wow, those two were certainly worth a drive of some hours (even at these gas prices). How is the snap on the 15?
