Hubertus Without Brass Liners

Post by XBMX »

I'm used to seeing newer Hubertus Autos 1990-2010 with Brass Liners. Recently I noticed a new acquisition has what I think are Stainless Liners. Any explaining other than they just ran short if Brass.

There were some models made with stainless liners during that time frame. If I remember correctly, you have (had?) one with the carbon steel blade, stainless bolsters and imitation stag scales. There may have been other models / special runs as well. I can't tell from the photo, is it one of the standard models? I don't have and can't recall seeing any standard models from that timeframe with stainless liners.

The new Otter knives have nickel silver liners.
The steel liners on the older Hubertus knives were carbon steel.
