Italy "magic knife" kit

Post by Scotchman »

Hello everyone, been awhile and I hope everyone is doing well. I have one of those mini magic knife kits that I attempted to put together and lost a screw. Is anyone here willing to put it together and how much? Thanks. Scott

I would take an identical screw from the kit to a company that specializes in fasteners and ask them to match it.
If they can do that, buy 3 of them just in case you ever lose any more. Assemble the knife with Lock-Tite to minimize the risk of
any of them coming lose. You need something more than the local hardware store.... use an outfit like these guys -- www.kljack.com/

I decided I don't want to mess around with it anymore and it's probably not worth it anyway. I remember what a pain it was trying to get that 1st screw in place, (the one I lost). Thanks for the idea though. Scott

screws replace pins. . . .I'm not sure which screw is missing..
or whether you can play musical chairs with screws until
the vacancy is where an " Easy Pin " can be installed.

My hands are too old to even grab a screw.
Let alone peen a pin . . .
Are you not able to peen a pin. . . ?

I think if you put it up for sale or trade. . . it will get built.

Wouldn't be good at that kind of thing. I will leave it in my lock box with my other knives and not mess around with it.

Hi scotchman,
Please post a photo of the knife. I may have a screw for it. I’ll send it to you.
If I have a match, I’ll pm you for your address.

Thanks everyone, it's ok. I would still have a difficult time putting it together. I have better knives anyway.

Looks like the kits are coming in a blister pack now....? Attached is a screenshot of a Grindworx ad from November 2019,
showing the kit in a hard plastic case. I guess they could save ten cents by switching to a blister pack; but I liked giving
these little kits as gifts, and a blister pack makes it look cheesier than the plastic case.

They sold two different ones. The larger 8 or 9 inch ones like Jerry posted and the small keychain size like button-man. I think the large kits were always in the blister packaging.

Never knew they made a normal size knife as a "magic knife" kit...! I'll have to check the sites and see if I can still get some of the
little knives in the hard cases.... after all, we're more than halfway to next Halloween so it's none too early to start picking up gifts
for the holiday season....
