Unstamped picklock
I got this early 1950s unstamped picklock in today and the horn is fabulous. If you like patina, it doesn't get any better than this and the knife came from an estate.

Hi Matt
The horn is outstanding! And so is the entire knife. Excellent addition to your collection.

That is impressive, and the distinctive horn deserves special note.

Re: Unstamped picklock
I think the unstamped ones were sold in Italy and not imported to the U.S. so I am speculating mine was bought in Italy in the 1950s.

Re: Unstamped picklock
I have been told that only knives with a tang stamp can be exported out of a country, the unstamped picklock that I posted is from the late 1940s

Re: Unstamped picklock
This is probably true. I bought a 10" picklock in Florence back in 1956. No marks of any kind. The blade was carbon steel with a light plating of some shiny metal.Panzerfaust wrote: ↑Fri Apr 22, 2022 1:57 am I think the unstamped ones were sold in Italy and not imported to the U.S. so I am speculating mine was bought in Italy in the 1950s.
