Kershaw 7500
.
First flea market switchblade of the year...! Picked up this little Kershaw 7500BLK (Launch 4) at the flea today for $65. It's full of grit, lint, etc and I'd like to take it apart and clean it -- but will I be able to put it back together? (The screws on the reverse are definitely torx; I believe the front screw is also, but right now it has so much grime in it that I can't swear to it.) As always, I picture twenty tiny parts springing out in all directions; and then discovering that I'll need a special rig to hold everything in place whilst re-assembling it. Has anyone ever broken down one of these? Thanks!

Not much inside. Coil fired spring a button and spring and a few screws. Smaller knives always seemed a little more difficult to work on to me.

It should be an easy job to take apart and reassembled.
Or you can try spaying it clean with WD40.

Even if you just wipe it off with a rag it looks to be a hell of a find!
My flea market auto experiences are always Asian beaters...on a good day. But there's always lots of over-priced Case knives. Point is, good purchase for sure!
Peace.

Re: Kershaw 7500
The button spring is likely tiny
This model is quite tightly sprung iirc
Would suggest maybe opening it in q bqg

Thanks for the comments.... I haven't dug out my Torx bits yet, but I intend to.... the suggestion to
disassemble the knife inside a bag to catch falling or flying pieces is very smart -- I will definitely do it!

Sammy, a lot of stuff like this has taken a back seat in recent weeks.
I've received a very sobering diagnosis and go in for a MRI next week
and surgery soon after. Medical issues are my primary focus now.

He's at death's door..... send him lots of knives immediately !!
Actually, I am still waiting for some test results.... it's too early to tell whether this is really serious.
I haven't posted lately because I haven't run across any interesting knives and I just don't have much to say.
Thank you (and also jim d) for the support..... I appreciate it.
