Chinese OTF’s: Italian Stiletto stylr

Post by LD57 »

Two recent purchases, a nine inch bayo and 11 inch dagger.
I replaced the stock screws with brass screws.
Added a brass finger ring and a small pocket clip to the 9 inch.
The 11 inch came with a pocket clip.
They’re pretty good knives; strong springs and very little blade play. The fit of the scales and bolsters could be better, and they’re pretty chunky. Overall, not bad at all.

I recently repaired one of these. The front clip for the spring which helps retract the blade broke. I made a new clip for it out of a brass wall hanger! Go check out my thread “Successfully repaired a MAGO OTF!” Hopefully it will come in handy if the same thing ever happens to one of these.

NICE WORK! I’m assuming the brass finger ring is for ornamentation? Typically the pull ring was to unlock a side opener, which I’m sure you know. Altho I guess it could helps as a finger guard.
Where did you get your brass screws from?
