I started collecting the cans when I was 12 years old in the mid-1970s. There was no internet or computer games, me and my friends looked for them. I only have around 800 left and they are in storage in my basement. Back in the 1930s, the cans would have "opening instructions" on the back, LOL. I do not collect any more.

Notice the large button on the knife! This switchblade really opens fast!

About 75% are flat or cone tops. The others are pull-tabs. I was a member in the 1970s and early 80s. Most of them are in storage in my basement.

I started in 1972. My BCCA number was 4672. I collected everything but my specialty were the US gallon cans. I owned all but 1 or 2 known to exist.

I am also wondering how you can specifically date it to the 1930s, since I am looking for
aspects of knives from this era that can be used to judge the age of my 'Marca Oro'.
Peiper, if you (or anyone!) can describe (or show in photos) how I can tell
a 1930s knife from a 1940s knife, I would be very grateful....!

Also -- what is the meaning of "I don't collect anymore" in your recent post?
Does this refer to knives, or to the vintage beer cans?

(BTW, back in the 1970s I picked up the full set of 'Katzenjammer Kids' comic-top
"crowns" (bottle caps) from Goldenrod Beer (circa 1935) for $20 at a local flea.
I was informed around 1998 by a crown collector that there were only about a dozen
complete sets known to exist; and that the only more desirable set was a set of
Disney crowns that was made about ten years before my set was made.)
