I bought these two Latamas from Walt at the blade show. A very nice man to talk to and buy from. He said the Latama with the red dot is a transitional switchblade and referred to it as the "S guard". It is after the flat guard but before the round guards. This is the first vintage Latama I have seen with red dot safety in person. 13"

Nice !!! Walt is great ! Did he have many of his new models for sale/
Re: Blade show purchased 13" Latamas
Thanks for the replies. Tom, I would say 90% of his inventory was new models.
Re: Blade show purchased 13" Latamas
Tom here is a picture of some of the knives Walt was selling. I did not get a picture of all of them. I will be posting pictures of the show on another thread.

Re: Blade show purchased 13" Latamas
Thanks for the pictures ! He has not listed his new models on his web site, perhaps so he could bring them to the show.
Re: Blade show purchased 13" Latamas
Thanks, Tom.
Walt and I were talking about tang stamps and he told me that the blades marked " Latama - Made in Italy" were made for flat guards. When Latama quit making flat guards, there was a surplus of blades leftover in inventory, especially on the 13-inch knives. These were later assembled on round guards. Here is an example. The knife on the right was purchased at the blade show.
