Lever Lock with borderline peek
What causes blade peek and how can I prevent it? My newly acquired Lever Lock is 1/32" from peeking and I don't want it to get worse if at all possible. Thanks to all who respond.

Hold the knife closed, and press the lever down while it's in the "safe" position.
Do this every time you close it.

Thanks Bill. Is there an anti-peek closing procedure for BO/BC knives?

Not really.
Holding the button down until it's completely closed and then releasing it helps.
Holding the knife closed while pushing the button, and opening it manually prevents wear on the sear- but it sort of negates the switchblade function.

Good question.
Bill, Do you repair peeking on switchblades?

Re: Lever Lock with borderline peek
I know fixing a peeking problem helps the appearance and the value, but I assume you have to grind the pins and take the knife apart. I don’t want to fix a problem and create another one. Bill, please give me your thoughts on this and how it done. I don’t know much about repairs. Thanks!

Many times, the sear hole in the blade can be laser welded. The knife doesn't have to be taken apart.
I avoid disassembly whenever possible, as there can be problems-but when it is necessary I do it properly.
Generally, you won't be able to tell the knife has been disassembled.

Thanks for the reply Bill. I never thought that would be possible, but now you have given me a good option. I will email you later. Thanks.

I would love to see a video of someone doing a repair job with a laser welder. I probably should just do a google search....

Since it's done under magnification, through a stereo microscope-type viewer I can't get a good video.
I don't do the welding. An old jeweler friend down the street does it.
