Bill, How did the makers secure the spring in the knife with a two-piece? Does the spring ever fall out?

The springs have a very slight dovetail and are bent into the dovetail. Sometimes they come out. Not often, and they shouldn't come out.

Thanks, Bill. Here is the reason why I am asking. The "M Italy" on the left does not have the traditional spring. I assumed it was replaced when I bought it; however, there is no indication that the knife has been worked on. The spring on the left works just as good as the other one. What are your thoughts about this?

Someone stuck a wire spring in.
It should pull right out.

It does not do that Bill. In very tight and solid. Can you fix it with an original? Probably not worth the cost, but it has the best blade.
