Microtech - Ultratech??

Post by tanto »

I have a chance to buy a Damascus Ultratech for about 700.00 USD (regular price was 1200). It has Devin Thomas Damascus blade, signed clip. What do guys think of that knife? Is it worth the money? The regular versions (non damascus) are around 390.00 USD...

Thank you, M.

Unless you just love damascus, I don't think it's worth the money. The standard steel is probably better for using.

If you want to USE it get the regular one, .
But for a collection the Damascus would be very, very nice.

Mr. David,

That looks sweet. How many rounds does the mag hold? Heres a pic of my recently aquired Taurus PT-908. The guy even included 4 each, 8 round mags.

The CZ-75 is a great gun, I've been looking at one that has a .22 cal conversion set-up so you can practice economically.
But I just bought an Uberti .45 so the CZ will have to wait a while.
THe Uberti is also VERY nice.

Bonzo I can't see your pic because tripod doesn't host off site, and David I WANT THAT nice toy unfortunaltely Canada has the most crazy gun control laws with adlest one gun in Canada avaiable to normal citzens (well legally, also weapons are illegal which include switchblades, so really I just say screw the law).

The magazine is for 14 rounds. I think it is only for 10 if the gun is imported to USA. Many people especially in US think our gun law is too strict. Actually in many instances it is more liberal. It is not that easy to get the permit (requires tests, doctors check up, practical test = shooting and clean convictions register). IMO it is just to scare away those who are not that determined to get the gun. But once you get the permit you can carry the gun anywhere and it has to be concealed. The permit is issued for 5 years, then you have to renew it - just like you do with your drivers license.

David

PS: Part of the test is the "gun law" (weapon law actually) itself. I just went through it and there is nothing about knives. The knives - even automatic - are not considered weapons here :).

Gun laws in the U.S. vary a lot. In my state to get a permit you need a clean record and $10 for 4 years. No tests, no interviews, but you must
have a reason [or reasons].
I have listed ALL of the following as reasons: [and several others I forget probably]
Protection
Hunting
Hiking
Fishing
Camping
Making noise
Physical therapy
Target practice
Drilling holes
Calling the dog
Shooting pests
Signaling
and my favorite
ANY legal pupose.
They always approve the permit because they have to. As long as someone wants it for a legal use they must give it to them.
The State next to mine is even better if you wish to carry a pistol you do
there is no such thing as a permit a clean record is the only permit you need.

I think you can have more then 10 round magazine to import to the states, In Canada if any gun has more then a 10 round capitcy with out reloading it's illegal, You even need a permit to buy ammo, and possess a firearm but that doesn't give you the legal right to even shoot it unless it's at a target or at a range (which is all I do), it is impossible to get a concealed carry permit, it's 10 years if you carry without a permit, ex-veterans and ex-cops who are in perfect condtion mentally and physically can't get a carry permit. A Handgun barrel has to be adlest 4" unless you have a conceal permit, a shotgun and a rifle barrel has to be adlest 12". But for airguns it's very liberal, as long as the projectile (BB/pellet) goes under 500 ft. per second it's not considered a firearm projectlie it can go off at 1000 rounds per minute if the bullets go under 500 ft per second and are the size of a pellet/bb cal. it's legal.

Anyways I will stop boreing you with our sociallist gun laws.
