The shell puller without the bale has a "WELTERSBACH" stamp. The baled shell puller has an etch on the blade. The 11cm has "HUGO SERVATIUS" stamped on the reverse.

Jim, great thread with so many wonderful Weltersbach examples shown!!!

Here is an uncommon model that hasn't been shown yet.
These multi-blade lever knives were offered prior to WWII and for a very short time after WWII.

Quaero, thanks for keeping this thread alive and sharing that great multi-blade Weltersbach with nice gnarly stag.

Some really great knives here guys! Referring to the W. Germany and Germany stamps, I can't think of another German maker other than Hubertus using W. Germany at all. Even this last beautiful entry by Quaero pre-WWII is only stamped Germany (I think). Does just stamped Germany always mean post fall of the wall in 89, or does that only apply to Hubertus?

Chris,

It seems obvious that there are pre fall of the wall knives stamped simply as Germany. Regarding Hubertus, I'm looking at a standard 11cm Hubertus in my collection that has the "W" I'm also looking at an older Hubertus shellpuller that is tang stamped, but only cites Solingen as the place of origin. It seems that it is not just Italian knives that pose stamp/etch mysteries.

Thanks Jim! I actually should have used “etched” as opposed to stamp regarding the Hubertus knives. I’m just really getting into the German leverlocks, but naturally have seen plenty of pictures. I’ve seen plenty of vintage pieces stamped Solingen/Germany, but W Germany only seems to appear on the blade etch of Hubertus. Which is certainly a handy way to age help age their knives. Though I have yet to add a tang stamped Hubertus, I’ve learned to try to at least add W Germany or bolster stamped models of Hubertus. (I only have 3 Hubertus knives mind you :D)

Thanks all, and yes, it certainly out matches an old folding Boy Scout knife.
But with that said, there was an official button fired Schrade switchblade knife produced for the Girl Scouts long ago, and a larger prototype Schrade model proposed for the Boy Scouts. Both are very rare.

Some of the Weltersbach knives have jigged ebony handles, rather than stag.
