Portlandmike's photo is of a dovetailed spring. See how the kickspring fits into what is essentially a receptacle? That is a dovetail, as opposed to a knife where the backspring and kickspring are one piece. Make sense?

So...are all 2-piece "slip in" springs dovetail springs? (I'm thinking not).

Dovetail- think rifle sight.
"Slip in" goes into a lengthwise slot in the backspring.

Are all 2 piece springs dovetail? If not what is the difference?
