Dibon, not Dibone.
Do you have a picture of the knife?

Re: Anyone heard of Oreste Dibone
I have several knives made by Oreste DiBon. Here are two from my collection, check this out:

They are way cool. I’ve never seen any with an acrylic scales all of mine have natural horn. Oreste passed away a few years ago. His legacy will live on.

Re: Anyone heard of Oreste Dibone
Beautiful knives John! I may be mistaken, but METALGOD did a special run with Oreste DiBon and those look like from that run. All red-dot except for the Mauro Mario stamped pieces. These 2 are not from that run, but also said to be Oreste DiBon. These are swivel bolster, "D" stamped, 2-piece springs, nickel/silver hardware, stag and horn, 6.25" OAL. Built just like the big ones.

Re: Anyone heard of Oreste Dibone
The ones i saw were swivel bolsters and had rostrel stamped does that make them more desirable...?????
Re: Anyone heard of Oreste Dibone
Hi Oreste DiBon is guy from Maniago Italy famous for 6-1/4" and smaller stiletto knives , he is guy who made all the small stilettos in the 1950's 60's 70's 80's 90's he did quit for little while then in 2005 me and Oreste did several small runs of 4.5" 5.5" 6-1/4" picklocks, and 6-1/4" Fish shape picklocks, he also made regular swivel bolster stilettos . i have bunches of stuff he made for me , i do list pieces every now and then out of my personal collection.
Re: Anyone heard of Oreste Dibone
Hi John i though for many years Lucio and Oreste were related and i was told by Lucio that they are not related at all , seems Dibon is a common name in Italy , when i asked Lucio what relation he was to Oreste he stated he was not related to him at all which blew my mind as i had thought for years they were related somehow. ask him yourself you will see .
Re: Anyone heard of Oreste Dibone
pretty sure Oreste picklocks are more desireable than swivel bolster he made , he made less of the picklock model than swivel bolster stilettos.Peteymcsweety wrote: ↑Sun Apr 19, 2020 11:34 pm The ones i saw were swivel bolsters and had rostrel stamped does that make them more desirable...?????
