Re: Very old BOKER 712
I recently picked up a similar German lever. It's a little different in that all the metal is steel (except for the NS lever). It has no "Springer" type word at the bottom bolster.
On the tang, it has an upside-down "Overland/Germany/Solingen" stamp. On the blade there is a etch that while being nicely intact, is hard to read. It is like a sheild shape with a crown on top, The top word in the sheild is unreadable (to me) then there is a "JM" in a circle. Under that, it is something like "J??O"/MacDuttland" (or something like that. At the very bottom of the shield (still inside it) it says "Solingen/Germany).

My friend found that one.JimBrown257 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 23, 2019 8:36 am I recently picked up a similar German lever. It's a little different in that all the metal is steel (except for the NS lever). It has no "Springer" type word at the bottom bolster.

However the one I payed here seems to have a more rectangle shaped body, like the later 712R Bokers. The bolsters on this one look steel too.
I believe this is the original model of all those 1980/1990s Boker 712R models without the bottom bolster.
Re: Very old BOKER 712
Steel looking bolsters and a bottom bolster on a 712 are something I have never seen. I'm curious as to the actual history and wish I had something to contribute here. Based on what I know, it sure seems like a very early model or a prototype
