Re: M Italy how old
It doesn't "appear" to be a one-piece spring, but it's hard to tell from pictures.
Is there one steel pin in the button-side liner between the button and safety?
The safety button looks to be the old style.

Hi Bill
It’s definitely a one piece spring it flows as one there’s no line between the two like on a 2 piece spring
Also I can’t see a steel pin either.
Do you think it’s a later knife or 50s ?

Re: M Italy how old
Can you see brass tabs that have been peened in place where the D stamps would be?

One piece springs are more modern. I still can't tell anything from the liner picture.
Is the blade stainless?
If you remove the rear bolster pin, you can swivel the liners open to see what you have.

Re: M Italy how old
I haven’t got the blade yet, I don’t really want to take the brass pin out the bottom, it must be pinned brackets then I don’t know it’s strange nothing seems be one or the other.
Thanks Bill

Re: M Italy how old
If there is a modern button assembly, there should be a steel pin between the button and safety.
The old style safety seems to preclude it being too new, but the one piece spring says newer.

Re: M Italy how old
I done a quick test with a magnet and they are nickel silver bolsters, thanks to another forum member that has had m Italy knives the same as mine and places it at 1960 to 1962.
It has rectangle type thing where the D stamp would be and it has a one piece spring.
Really pleased with it now just wanted to know the ins and outs and I’ve learned lots.
Thanks everyone
