Latama Square Button pair
Here is a nice pair of RARE Latama Square buttons. Both made in July 1951. One is a 13” with kris blade and the smaller one is a 7” with a bayo blade.

I’ve found four so far but two went to a good friend.
I hope to find the three other sizes one day...ah some day...
Re: Latama Square Button pair
Absolutely fantastic! I’ve ran across one square button, kris blade 13” Latama once, but it wasn’t really for sale.... great find.

I didn’t take pictures. It was at an automatic knife show last year and he had it in his case next to other knives that were for sale. I attempted to buy it, but the price wasn’t realistic. (Hence not really for sale). It was a merchant at the AIK show.

Good to know more and more are slowly turning up here and there. I have confidence I’ll find the other three sizes I need to complete the set!

Re: Latama Square Button pair
Really nice. Had no idea there were so many sizes. What is the oval in the smaller one? Safety? Heard there was only 12 or so made. Does that include all the sizes? What is a realistic value on them?
I would like to buy a vintage Latama, if I could find a really nice one at a reasonable price? If there is such a thing/

They made 5 sizes. 7, 8, 9, 11, 13 inches. Latama had between 800 to 1000 square button produced. Between 800-1000 combined.thom wrote: ↑Fri Jul 12, 2019 9:54 pm Really nice. There are two style of the production models. A button open/button close model with a sliding safety. And the swivel bolster models with the hidden shin safety like these two.
