I would like to buy a vintage Latama, if I could find a really nice one at a reasonable price? If there is such a thing/

The shield on the 7” model is for decoration only. So far all the 7” models have it. I’ve seen one 11” model with it as well.

The idea that only 12 were made, was someone’s half baked theory. They made as many Square buttons as their fish models and their hunters and reverse lever hunters and gun knives. All of those are found in roughly the same numbers.

Thanks for the info, very interesting. I usually refer to everyone here by their initials. In this case I won't. Maybe if I don't put a space in....MF.

Yes...gorgeous blonde horn book matches front and back. What’s crazy is the two I found that ended up with a friend looks like an identical pair to mine. Both of the 7” models I found have matching white handles and bayo blades. And the two 13” I found have black handles and Kris blades.

Here is the 7” I own and the mint 7” I found that my friend owns now. We used his for the Latama book.

Enjoy!
