These OTFs have grabbed quite the attention and sparked discussion at length among collectors on a different forum. Determined to be Asian made, they seem to be quite popular. I believe they can still be found at wish.com.

My first thought was China when they hit the market.

If this is the case, why is Grindworx marketing them as "Made In Italy"?

Taken directly from Grindworx description:

"This Mago OTF model features a satin finished bayonet blade and a white marble handle.

Get the best of both worlds with the Mago 11" Italian Stiletto OTF automatic. The Mago brilliantly combines the classic style of an Italian stiletto and the tactical speed of an OTF. A front-loaded thumb slide fires and retracts the blade with smooth automatic precision. Add a unique design to your collection with the Mago 11" Italian Stiletto OTF Auto."

What gives?

Why? Because they are Chinese. They will put anything on anything to sell it.
I'm suprised they aren't Bill DeShivs/AKC models.

And they put it on stilettos, other lever locks, the Colt/Walther autos, and probably more.

Got it. Silly me, I thought perhaps they were genuine. I nearly bit on one.

Tell what isn't made in China these days ? everything you ware from the top of you head to the shoes on your feet also every American name brand power tool made now days comes from china I just bought a Milwaukee drill and was pretty disappointed to see this stamped on the tag a few weeks ago . I'd prefer American products to stuff from China it's just impossible to find now days and if you do you usually very expensive . people have been asking for a classic Italian looking OTF for years it's a shame it had to come from China . we asked Angelo and he told use no one was willing to make a classic looking OTF in Maniago never really got a reason why I would guess it would have cost to much for what the return would have been ? anyway these knives are very nice for the price they fire hard and have a very tight lockup no rattle at all which is more than I can say for the concords and black fingers made in Italy at about haft the cost and if you can live with the fact there made in China and just want a great working Italian looking OTF to play with these fit the bill very nicely .

There is nothing wrong with Chinese knives.
Marking them "Made in Italy" or with counterfeit names is another story.

I dont agree with that at all either and hate seeing this on any knife . I still wish somebody in Italy would have made them first instead of having to settle for one in this style made in China .

I agree with Bill, a knife designed and made in China and marked as such is fair play, and if I liked it I would buy it. I just have a problem with counterfeit anything.

I like the knife and started a post about it weeks ago on ShaperDeals, but I totally agree with Bill and Jim as to the miss marking with a fake company name is not acceptable. Listing the wrong country is also wrong, but there are many companies that do that too. The F-16 may have shipped out of Italy to retailers, BUT we all know it is a China product..... All in this knife is a nice product.....
