Anton Wingen Othello

Post by Lucentcrow »

I’ve read a few posts on here and on SD about Anton Wingen, the knife is marked Anton Wingen and on the other side it has a mans head and a curved Othello stamp underneath, what date would it be 50s ?

I haven’t got it yet but hopefully soon and I’ll post pics then.

Thanks for any info

Joe

Have to see it on photos to give an approximate age.It could be 50s 60s or 70s .

Here is a rough guide for you found online to do with the A.W moors head as a dating tool .It ,or a knight in armour can be found on most Wingen knives.

Type in "Ulfs blog spot" ....it is an excellent read for leverlock lovers and may help you with the wingen .
Here are three Anton wingen levers from it and the the top 2 pictures are of an Anton wingen clipoint I have in red pickbone.

Hope alls well

Ian

Hi Ian

Thanks for all that, it’s says it’s 50s but the stamps you posted it’s the 1937 I understand it’s from 1937 and probably 50s

I can’t wait to get it I’ll keep you posted.

Hi Joe,
Can’t wait to see your Anton Wingen Othello.

Ian, thank you for the info. The time line of stamps is very useful.
