I'll bet his real name is Calder.

I think I had one of these hanging over my crib (at least that would explain a few things)

Surely you're not questioning the artistic merit of the switchblade tied to the hanger??

But, yeah, I'm pretty sure it is meant to be a middle finger to Ebay's knife policy.

Yeah, it is definitely the guy trying to sell his switchblade but get around the knife rules by claiming it is "art".

When I was a kid, the local flea market sold brass knuckles but they had this tiny nub in the middle of it. The guy selling them claimed the nub meant it was a "paperweight" and not a "weapon" and therefore not against the law to sell to anyone. It was never clear why the nub would make it a paperweight.

That is the thing our Ebay friend is doing here. We should watch how it turns out; it might be a good idea that could open up new possibilities for people trying to sell autos on Ebay.

Oh, the nub was for a belt hole... brass knuckle belt buckle... never did get one when I was younger. My parents blew a gasket when I came home with a balisong at around 12 or 13.

A belt buckle would make more sense than a paper weight, that must be what the guy had meant to say it was. But it was the same idea; they were trying to pass it off as something other than what it clearly was to bypass the law. Just like the modern art piece on Ebay.

Here is one of those brass ("brass") knuckles that had the nub.
