Unknown Switchblade
I got this knife at an Estate Sale recently and cannot find any info on it. Any experts out there that can help me identify it and a value? Would be greatly appreciated. It is 11 inches long has a swivel bolster to close, appears to be authentic Stag Scales, normal button open with a lock slide, the only thing I can make out on the blade is B Rachel or something like that and it appears to be engraved. I would at photos but not for sure how to reduce them.
Thanks
Thanks
Re: Unknown Switchblade
Hi 02Knight. By the sound of it, could be a 1980's B over ROSTFREI swivel bolster, stag scales, stainless hardware. I'm not recalling whether that B stands for a member of the Beltrame family, or which member that may be. Have you tried clicking the RED Post Reply button below and added attachments or files to place in line? Pictures are always your best bet for identification.

O2knight... I have been taking a picture with my phone and then sending that picture to myself as an email. At that point my phone asks what size I would like to send and I choose medium or small. I’m sure there is a better way but that’s the only way I have been able to post pictures ... good luck and welcome.

Hello O2knight
Sounds like a Frank Beltrame 11" Stag from the 1970s -1980s .
B Rachel will be B Rostfrei
B for a Beltrame I get confused to which Beltrame aswell as there were small b and upercase B knives. The Rostfrei (Rust free /Stainless )was how many switchblades are marked through the decades.
As JulesVane rightly said Stainless bolsters and they are decent in construction,I have a few 9 inch types and couple of 11 inchers but none in stag, and the 11 inchers are great in hand.
As Mike and Chris said would love to see pictures to be sure
I take them with my phone then go to photos Editor and crop them a little.......this somehow reduces the file size to the required 900 or less kb.
Go to the Attachments and select the add files feature at the bottom of your thread whilst on your phone. It gives you an option where to post the files from.ie downloads ,photos ,gallery etc
Go to your photos select the cropped or altered file and press on it ....it should download here for you to preview.Repeat the process to add more photographs.
Here are some B Rostfrei knives 9 and 11 inchers .
Look forward to seeing your example.

Thanks so much guys. Yes that last word could very well be Rostfrei and the B is for sure an uppercase letter. So where is Beltrame from? Italy? I will attempt to take some photos with my phone the send them to Dropbox and the paste them here.

02Knight, here's an 11" Beltrame stag to compare. Different blade grind, but the same price. Yours may be a bit "older", but I don't think the value would vary too much (I'm not positive of that). https://www.pvk.vegas/Frank-Beltrame-28 ... stag-d.htm

Re: Unknown Switchblade
Thanks Jules and everyone else, I have alot more knowledge about it now than I did before I came here. So it is an Italian Beltrame made knife with authentic Stag handles made sometime in the 70's to 80's, worth somewhere in the $100 range. That is considerably more than I bought it for.
Re: Unknown Switchblade
I also found a Bonsa knife that I will post photos of later when the email comes through.
