Handle is stag. Looks like a 9" model. Blade would clean up pretty easily, and the button probably can be replated without removing it. With a little investment, the knife could bring quite a bit.

Bill is correct these with stainless blades and mostly with stag handles turn up from South America a lot. They seem to command less than a early 1950s with super looking horn or steel liners.

Hmm, I can't see a tang stamp myself. What's the opened length BigJohn? 7"? I'm pretty amazed how the safety cap is nearly as big as the button.

The knife is unmarked, except for the assembly mark visible on the blade.

I just don’t want to start cleaning it with anything that will cause it more damage as it looks like it would be valuable to somebody

It's in very bad condition already. Cleaning it will only detract from it's value.
You won't get rich off of it, regardless.

The knife is in rough shape, but it is a flat guard which is a plus.

Does anyone have a picture of an early 1950's example? I would like to see what is being spoken of.
