Hmm, naturally Bill will know for sure, but the spacing on the blade of Bill's name looks different. Bill DeSh i v s

Everything else the seller has is made in China so I would guess counterfeit.

It sure looks good compared to this frankenstein leverletto type knife by the same seller. https://www.ebay.com/itm/High-quality-s ... 0005.m1851

I believe it to be counterfeit as well. I could make out the spacing, eyes are getting old

Here's a lesson in knife authentication.
While the lettering on this knife is wrong, there are about a dozen other things that are wrong.
Read the knife- not the markings.
Let's see how many points you guys can find wrong with this knife.
Here's a picture of a fake one on top with the real one on bottom.

"Leverletto" on blade doesn't look right, "Deshivs" doesn't look right, "AKC Italy" doesn't look right, there is a screw where the (opener/blade release?) is, and the pin on the thin strip of metal on the top of the front scale is way down at the bottom of the strip. How did I do?

The blade being swedge? I can't really tell by Bill's pic of the real deal.

And the real has N/S bolsters, not SS. The bolsters and fire button look cheap on fake.

Weird that the phony has a registered trademark symbol, ®, but Bill's does not. Of course nothing written on the phony means anything, but if Bill were to have that symbol, doesn't it afford some protection if only to provide grounds for damages?

AKC has the copyrite in Europe. I have it here.
But- pretend the fake doesn't have ANY markings.

Be careful there is a lot of Chinese counterfeiting of switchblades going on these days. There is a website/app “DHgate” that sells a bunch of realistic looking AKC and balisong knifes. An assortment of lever lock, stiletto, OTF and butterfly knives clones for dirt cheap And it’s okay to buy clones for personal use but I’d be extremely careful of crooked ass bozos trying to pass them off as real authentic name brand automatic knives and rip people off.. I would suggest that you take a look at that site and then be cautious of anything that looks like what they sell on the DHgate site!

If it had no markings, then it would simply be a Leverletto clone. Clones tend to be less well made, often use some different materials and substituted parts, and may differ in other basic aspects such as overall design and layout. This item is clearly not a clone given its counterfeit nature, but nevertheless all the characteristics of a clone are present.

Is there any way you can shut that sellers listing down by contacting ebay, I mean, your name is on it & it's fake?
