I think t6 is a plastic with aluminum in its composition.

G10 is made from a fiberglass material plus epoxy.
I haven’t done any research as the advantage of one material over the other.

I found out the following, in italics:

In the FAQ of Benchmade Site:
G10
Tensile strength: 55,000 psi
Compressive strength: 65,000 psi

These values are amazing. As a reference, these are the values for 6061 T6 and for DuPont Zytel, from www.matweb.com:

6061 T6 (Aluminium alloy)
Tensile Strength, Ultimate: 44,950 psi
Modulus of Elasticity: 69 GPa, 10,005 ksi. Average of Tension and Compression. In Aluminum alloys, the compressive modulus is typically 2% greater than the tensile modulus.

DuPont Zytel 101, GP Nylon 66, Dry As Molded
Tensile Strength, Ultimate: 11,992 psi
Compressive Yield Strength: 4,901 psi

It seems G10 is tougher than Aluminium, and many times better than Zytel.

I believe Benchmade a serious company, so I am keen to believe their data, but it is hard to understand why there is a so big difference in compressive strenght between G10 and Zytel. Zytel is made with nylon and fiberglass, G10 with epoxy and fiberglass. The compressive strenght is given by, say, fiberglass, and fiberglass is in G10 and in Zytel too.

Everyone always tells me not to work with G-10 or I will surely die. I think the cloud of micro-glass particles is real bad to breathe in and it can get through most masks.

Is the T-6 stuff similar in that respect?

The following is from Wikipedia:

G10 (material) - Wikipedia
Wikipedia › wiki › G10_(material)Hazards.
G10 is generally safe to use, however when cutting or grinding the material, proper respirators have to be worn to avoid breathing in the glass and epoxy dust, known for contributing to respiratory disorders and increasing the risk of developing lung cancer.

Wikipedia has the following info on T6. I skimmed the article and could not find any information on the dangers of inhaling T6 dust.

T-6 aluminum is used for knife frames, bodies, etc.

G10 is a handle material.

Don't know. Would have to see a photo or an ad with the knife described that way.
