Super Automatic otf repair
Gday, I have a super auto switch blade but its useless since the spring broke. Does anyone have a photo of all the parts inside, as I'm not sure if its missing anything. Secondly, does anyone know where I can buy a replacement spring? Ive searched everywhere.
Thank you in advance

Is it the side-opener lever one or the more common OTF?

If the end broke off of your spring, you may be able to just put that tab back on with a little careful bending.

Google search spring manufacturing companies. Eventually, you’ll find what you need.

Hi AussieB.Fanatic, welcome to the forum. Sorry I don't have any helpful advice, just wanted to comment that I too joined TalkBlade with the hope that someone could help me with a broken switchblade spring. That was almost 15 years ago. Never did fix the knife, but it's been fun, hope you like it here.

Did you ever figure out how to fix your super-automatic springer? I could show you how if you still need help?
First of all could you post a picture of the knife? Does it have a mechanism like the one in the pictures up above or is it a model with the two rockers like this?

Wow, lot more parts in that than I thought.

Re: Super Automatic otf repair
The OTFs look complicated lots of parts, tiny springs, levers and stuff. I have two that need some TLC. They’re broken so if I try to repair them and fail how much more damage can I do.

Does anyone know what the first knife was that used that DA design? I'm interested in who came up with that.

We started seeing them in the very early 1970s. Most were made in Spain.

It’s strange I know these knives inside and out but still don’t fully understand how stretching a spring over a metal piece like that makes a knife dual action... I’m lost for words.

Hey John how are your knives broken? is it possible that the blade is just off track. Easiest fix is just pull the blade manually into the out passion until it clicks with your fingers. then it should start firing in and out again. Or is it actually missing parts? I could always take step by step pictures of all the parts being assembled and disassembled in order. Even better yet maybe I should make a YouTube tutorial on both of the known models.
