I’m looking for info on some of the knives my father “aquired” as a Police Officer in the early ‘60s.
“EIG Cutlery Italy” is stamped using 2 lines on the tang of the 4 3/4” blade. Overall length is about 10 1/2”. This is an operating push button open (folding switchblade). The handle appears to be bone or horn but please forgive my lack of knowledge of old knives if I’m incorrect. [img][/
Any information on where/when this knife was made will be greatly appreciated.

Blade is short. It's been retipped and sharpened badly. It isn't worth $1000.
The knife was made in Maniago, Italy prior to 1959, and it was imported by Eig Cutlery in Florida.
Spring button is shaky; opens the blade to locking position and it locks however, on closing the blade the knife has to be turned over to get the release button back in place. The safety slides with no problem and prevents the button from opening the blade. I'm hoping to learn if the cost of repairing and refurbishing will be worth it to pass it on.
