Beltrame vs Campolin Swing guard!

Post by Hombre »

I must admit that I really love swing guards but so far I only have Beltrame 11" swing guards....
I am intending to buy at least a couple Campolin swing guards in stag and horn....
If I understand it right they do them in 13"....
If you compare the quality between Campolin and Beltrame, what can you guys say then....
I mean, there are a difference in price between them and is Campolin so much better...
I should really like to hear your opinions....

Some years ago Frank Beltrame bought the tooling for the 11" swinguard. He is the only manufacturer of these size swingers. AGA Campolin has built the 13" swinguard based on the design of Renzo Pascotto. These are not simply a larger 11" but are much more massive in every way. The build quality is excellent Renzo also made small runs of even larger swinguards (18" and I believe a 21") following the lines of his 13" model. A real hand full  :D

...just a quick visual comp...As Mr. Natcherly said, twice the weight, thicker, etc...Specs can be found online. The Pascotto/Campolin 13" is a monster, in a very nice way.

The 13"s are worth the 2x cost.

Hi hombre,
I agree with everyone above. Chris’s knives say it all.
