AGA 28cm Classic picklock bayonet pearlex

Post by arlen »

I just ordered an AGA Classic stiletto, picklock, 11", bayonet, pearlex, 70th anniversary edition. 4mm spring width. (I am learning.)
Now the wait begins.

That's a beauty. Love the choice of pearlex too. You'll love it! Congrats!

One of these days I will graduate to collecting older knives with genuine MOP,ivory, camel bone, etc. But for now, i need to acquaint myself with stilettos and learn my likes and dislikes before I sink serious money. My last purchase of the F Beltrame caused me to fall in love with the swivel bolsters.

Nice grab. Not as many true MOP being offered as there used to be. Just a matter of continuing to look for them.

Home from the office this evening and found that I have received my AGA Campolin 28cm, bayonet blade, faux MOP scales, picklock, 1947-1917. I did not know how I would take to the pearlex scales, but am thouroughly converted to loving this knife. It is very handsome.
I will post pictures of my new stiletto tomorrow evening.

Taking pictures of pearlex is difficult for me. What looks beautiful to my eye becomes a blinding/glaring picture. These pictures submitted here do not do justice to this knife.

Beautiful knife arlen

Something so elegant and tactile about mop or pearlex.
Would sit beautifully with a pearl handled .41 Remington derringer ,on a gamblers table in the old West ,

Super purchase arlen ...I would love to own one of these AGAs you lot keep flaunting on here.
They look beautifully made and are nice in most scale materials I have seen.

Congratulations ..A knife to be proud of.and thanks for the pictures

I never knew that such quality stilettos existed until recently. During my lifetime, all of the switchblades to which I was exposed were cheap Japanese or Chinese knives. Those were slim handled, 9" or so knives.
It will be interesting to see what Campolin has to offer this summer in the way of 28cm picklocks.
