SOVECO
I’ve been looking for info about SOVECO for a while with no results. When I looked at old posts on the SD forum about the subject, going back to 2009, the only thing I learned was that no one else knows anything either. Since the last post I could find was in 2014, I wanted to post photos of my 11” and see if anyone has learned anything about this unusual stamp. Any info would be appreciated. I hope this particular knife hasn’t been seen here. I found nothing on this forum.

What a lovely sleek looking knife ....i love the shape of it.
The bottom bolster looks almost swelled the horn is fitted so well.
The liners look really thick to,love the build quality on these early picklocks.
I have never heard of Soveco and only saw one flatguard from the 30s which i am sure you have seen when searching for info.
Its a great looking stamp aswell .
What a great rare find ....sometimes when theres no info it just means the knife is rarer than the norm and valuable...but i know what its like searching for info on these knives ,its nice to put an age name and maker to them.
Good luck finding some history on this nice knife mate.

WOWSER! What a great piece. First one I've seen. All the classic attributes. The vintage pick locks push all of my buttons. My favorites are the long thin blade and the scales tapered to join the bolster smoothly rather than giving the appearance of an unfinished afterthought with the squared off ends at the bolsters.
If you subscribe to the SD forum maybe "Sticks of Fire" or Bill DeShivs will chime in with more information about it. Both of them have really in depth knowledge of the classics.

I, too, have been looking for info on Soveco, I own one. I ran across it at a garage sale and it was trash......everything needed done (full restoration). Your piece looks better by a long shot. I sent it to Bill DeShivs for this and got it back in beautiful shape. He said it looked like it might be an import???? The only thing I could come up with was a pair of scissors with that same stamp on it, thinning scissors I believe, on Ebay. I've been all over knife blogs and nothing. It looks like you and I have two rare finds.

Re: SOVECO
While I know nothing of the Soveco name, my speculation was that Soveco may not have been the manufacturer's name, but rather the importer's name- similar to Latama and other US importers.

That is a beautiful example of a Soveco.
Here is another example of the one I had for years. There was speculation years ago that all or some of the components were fabricated in Frosolone and assembled in Maniago. Some of the common traits I noticed is how thick the back springs were and of coarse the curved Bat Wing lock tab. Most common a Frosolone trait.

That is a real beauty. I’ve got a sweet spot for those old blonde scales that are becoming translucent. What size is yours?
Re: SOVECO
Like alot of my collection, I turned many knives back into the wild keeping just a few dozen. It is one of a handful that I have Seller remorse.
It is a 9".
