Why is it so hard to find this knife?
When I was a kid I only had one switchblade. It looked like a Shur Snap, or one of the other brands of the same type of carded knife. I'd like to find another one, but it seems impossible to get exactly the same color. I have one in yellow, and i've seen several in other colors, but not in this same color of apple green. The one in the photo that i've attached is an Edgemaster. I have no idea if mine was, but it looked *exactly* the same.

I've been looking for one for *years*. Why is it so tough to find one.

I feel ya. I'm looking for the green Super Automatic OTF. I see every color but that green one.

Talk to Ken Whitfield, I'd bet he can fix both of you up.

If it makes you feel any better, when you finally do find it, you'll see like three more just like it within a few days.

He's on the SD forum as "shursnap" and on Facebook in Old Switchblade Knives. He's the author of "Antique American Swithblades" published by Krause Publications, perhaps you can reach him through them. I don't have his email or phone number, perhaps another member can help you out.Gunhawk wrote:How can I contact Mark Erickson?ILikeStilettos wrote:Not Ken Whitfied, Mark Erickson ... my mistake.

The knife that you had was most likely and Edgemaster. The Colonial knives didn't have a very wide range of colors after they started adding bolsters in the early 50's. I definitely have had some in that color, and MAY still have one. I will check and see.
