His ruining a stiletto at a knife show I attended by pressing the button down as hard as he could until it deployed because he didn't realize the safety was engaged comes to mind. Needless to say I was no longer interested in the piece. Throw in his lack of knowledge in regards to what town most genuine stilettos come from and a mispronunciation and Siciliano and I'm hoping his knowledge of American automatics is better than that of Italians.

None of us know everything about knives. I have known Doug for at least 15 years (I even assisted with the book) and can safely say that Doug knows more about knives than 90% of collectors.
The fact that he did write a book only adds to the general collector knowledge.
Again, what did you write-besides disparaging remarks about one of the nicest and most knowledgeable guys you will ever meet?

I don't need to write anything, and I have every right to have whatever opinion I want about people - at least I make them based on personal interactions face-to-face rather than baseless judgments. Sorry if that offends you.

My opinion was based on many face-to-face meetings with Doug, plus many other interactions with him.
Nothing baseless about that.
Now I'll close this thread before it gets out of hand.
