Arlen "Slo-Joe" Walker's work

Post by Fishtail Picklock »

Does anyone have any experience with his builds? If it is within the realm of reality, I'd like to have a custom build from him.

A little help here?

He's a mangled, not a builder. That being said, his work is beautiful, and priced accordingly.

Define "mangled". What does that mean? (Custom work)?

A mangler enhances a production knife, sometimes only using the blade, rocker, and springs. He may decorate those parts, too. A builder starts with raw materials, steel and bone. Some guys, like Muskrat Man can repair or replace any component, but are pretty much manglers by choice. Tank has built more than a few, but mostly does conversions. There are very few builders who do that day in and day out.

I guess I'll have to Google Muskrat Man.

Thanks, Dave.

Muskrat Man is a member here, he probably has contact information in his profile and a link to his web site.

Both Slo-Joe and Muskrat Man turn out great pieces. You wouldn't go wrong with either of them.
