I believe it was armed forces only or something like that. I had one quite awhile back and it was marked made in USA. Descent knife for its day.

What I find amazing is I can't get some serious interest in the knife. I have it for a low price on Sharper Deals and there's no interest in it.

I guess Moms won't let Dads get the kids switchblades for Christmas. Darn Moms always spoil the fun! lol
SDs: 100 listings/20 with bids. BA: 22 listings/2 with bids. I wouldn't say sales are exactly "up" at this time.

For some reason they had a bad rep. Most sold for $75 to $100 new upon release. After a year or two you had to fight to get that price it you tried to sell one. Some are made in Taiwan for S&W and were considered to have a lesser quality steel that wouldn't hold a good edge.

It says it right on the blade "US Army Issue" That's the name of Taylor's Chinese offering. The steel really wasn't too bad (7Cr17Mov). Not the best steel in the world, but it held a decent edge for being a Chinese Version of 440A. The aluminum handle was decent, but the enamel tends to wear away fairly quickly. The plunge lock is a traditional design that wears well. Remember, this isn't quite as good as American knives but it didn't cost as much as American knives, either.

The early ones were made here but like everything else that didn't last long.

Doesn't look like much of anything is selling on the auction sites at this time. $50 is not to high of a price for it in my opinion
