Off centered blade pin

Post by Scotchman »

I recently took my knives out of storage and upon looking at my Frank B. 11" swinguard, the blade pin is not centered. I'm not concerned, was just curious if anyone has this same experience? If it is normal for this type of knife. Scott

It's not supposed to be centered.

The pivot pin needs to be off to the left of the bolster so when the blade closes there is room for the springs on the right of the handle.

EDIT: It just occurred to me you might mean the pivot looks off center when looking into the handle, like one end seems higher than the other. If so. that is probably just an illusion created by the peening of the pin. On one end, more metal was pushed up and the metal at the other end was pushed down.
