Weidmansheil clipoint leverlock

Post by gravknife »

Hello everyone at TB

I just got this little weidmansheil Springer konig through the net and its a real pretty little leverlock.
The knife is 10 cm closed 18.5cm open and has a clipoint blade which apart from a few usage scratches is unsharpened and retains its polish
.
I usually get spearpoint blades in levers and don't seem to see as many of the clipoints so thought i would add this to my collection.

Whats really nice on this knife is the stag ,its a great texture like kidney beans and was well picked for the knife
I never really know tbh when thesw springer konig marked knives are fromi thought maybe 70s through to 90s so any info /comments as usual will be gratefully received .

All the best to all

Ian

Thanks whippersnapper and tequiza for taking a look.
I was hoping if someone can confirm that clipoints are rarer than spearpoints and a rough date of their production.I have seen about 9 spearpoints for sale but this is the first clipoint for me anyway.

The markings are slightly different aswell on the blades the Rostfrei solingen is a larger stamp on the spearpoint.

Tequiza ...the stag was what drew me to this little knife its the best textured stag i have on my levers and is tactile .

I hope your both keeping well ...and tequiza hope you have had chance to fire up that magnificent grill recently.I wish i could make it over there for a beer and a burger . 8)

Ian, I haven't fired up the big grill in a couple of years now, but if you should ever make it over here i'll fire it up and smoke a few slabs of baby back ribs for sure!!!

Hi ian,yes sir the clip-point blade is a rare bird as well as weidmensheil it looks to me to be a 60s piece by the aged stag.there is no fakeing that also the springer on the bottom bolster is another clue to this old girls age.beautiful old knife sir!! Thanks for shareing!

Great example and I like that stag. Yes, clipoints are less common but far from rare. Is the rifle in the photos an Annie?

Thanks Lance and Jimd

Jim the rifle is only a .22 pellet(air) gun by Air Arms its an old one that i have a few shots with in the fields .

Its a bit more difficult to own real guns here now in England especially in the towns and cities and i dont get as much chance to shoot due to illness.

Its hard to believe and ironic that in a nation that has been asked to go to war and kill so many times that weapons of anykind are frowned upon .
Hope your well lance and Jim
