Swinguard bail

Post by Scotchman »

I was curious as to what a bail is and does on a swinguard? The only kind of bail I am familiar with is on a fishing reel. Thanks.

I'm thinkin they were made to attach a cord to so they weren't easily lost but I wouldn't bet my first born on it.

Consider that they are also called "lanyard shackles". That pretty much explains the function, although on some autos they function as "safeties".

Just a fancy name for a lanyard ring/safety.

Yep, just the ring on the back of some knives for a lanyard.
