what's to be sorry about ? there the one's who posted a poor picture of OTF and were taking orders didn't seem to much to ask for to see what it looked like before I place my order was it ? for whatever reason I guess any sort of reply to a potential customer was not worth a reply after asking several times .

At this point I would not think to highly of the company based on the many changes on this item, and their failure to respond to communications from customers......

I think it was a bad idea on their part, and it "went away."

I think your probably rite. After working in factory's for 40 plus years made in USA doesn't necessarily mean that it's any good like it did years ago. Sorry to say!

made in USA definitely doesn't mean what it used to. From the Federal Trade Commission website:
Does the FTC pre-approve Made in USA claims?
The Commission does not pre-approve advertising or labeling claims. A company doesn’t need approval from the Commission before making a Made in USA claim. As with most other advertising claims, a manufacturer or marketer may make any claim as long as it is truthful and substantiated.

As with a lot of things, I don't think "made in USA" claims are really questioned or evaluated unless there are numerous complaints or lawsuits from competitors. In addition there are places like American Samoa, a group of islands in the South Pacific that are "American territories" and products from there can be labelled "made in USA" even though they're effectively made overseas in sweatshops with none of the regulations that mainland American factories have to deal with.

Ravencrest Tactical makes OTFs in the good ole USA. I have one and really like it. It gets bad press in some other auto forums.
