Hubertus with tang and springer stamps

Post by Panzerfaust »

I got this one in today. I haven't seen many Hubertus knives with tang stamps and this is the first one I have had that has a springer stamp on the bolster. I'm guessing this is 1960s vintage because it has a rostfrei blade.

It's the standard size of just under 8 inches. Bill D posted on another forum that it looks like a Bonsa contract knife and I believe he is right.

Nice knife! Great stag.

Just got my first Hubertus with the 'Springer' Bolster stamp. It's a camper.

No tang stamp and has this logo on the blade.

The best information I can give you is to take another knife, and pry/chip all of the existing handles off of it. They are decaying celluloid, and will destroy what is left of the knife.

My understanding is that the tang stamped Hubies were made from 1955 - 1972. Heed Bill's advice. You have a desirable knife. It can be rescaled. If you don't feel comfortable doing it, Bill DeShivs will do a fantastic job. Others do great work as well.
