C.G. Co. Picklock with crazy Sheep's Foot Blade
Anyone got any info on C.G. Co. M. Italy?
And anyone seen a stiletto with a sheeps foot blade before?
I have never seen this blade before in any knife from Maniago.
I got this from a Jewish Israeli guy in Florida and he said he bought them in Italy in the later 1950's?

That is a neat, and unique! I have seen one or 2 of the sheep's foot bladed knives, GCCo marked, but they were not in auto form.

Reminds me of what they call a "Doctor's knife" perhaps these were made for a hip Italian pharmacist to count pills
Just kidding of course, this is a very cool knife. I am no expert but I would say it is very rare.
It is obviously a specialty item and few were made. I hope more info comes forward on this obscure knife.

Not to argue, but what evidence supports your statement?Bill DeShivs wrote:It's a conversion.

Just guessing here but it looks mighty pristine to be original from the 50's.ILikeStilettos wrote:Not to argue, but what evidence supports your statement?Bill DeShivs wrote:It's a conversion.

In your opinion, was the blade filed like that recently?

Looking very close at the blade I cannot imagine what shape it would have to be, to file it down to what it is now. All of the regular stiletto grinds are much smaller and or more narrow. So I believe the blade shape is totally original and not modified. I have never seen that blade shape before this knife.

Ohhhhhhhh ... now that makes more sense. (You have to break down to one syllable words for some of us, Bill - we don't have your experience or world view.)Bill DeShivs wrote:Blade shape is original.

I would like to have the term CONVERSION defined as a step by step process for those of us who don't know. Simple question, simple answer.
Re: C.G. Co. Picklock with crazy Sheep's Foot Blade
These are the two GC Co I have , the 13'' er is the one I mentioned that matches unique blade style of " sheep's foot blade" The smaller one measures 8'' . I acquired these about 32 yrs ago .

Re: C.G. Co. Picklock with crazy Sheep's Foot Blade
In this case the term "conversion" is referring to- The knife was originally a manual(non-auto) from the factory and the knife was disassembled, parts were added to "convert" it to auto(switchblade)...kick spring,button/mechanism,lock etc.roadsideimports wrote:I would like to have the term CONVERSION defined as a step by step process for those of us who don't know. However I am no expert and know nothing about this particular knife and I am not claiming it a conversion, just trying to help out.
