Just because somebody bids twice what something is worth to you does not make it the 'right price'.

I recently saw a $125 MT Firefither go for $235 on the Bay. So what? Proves only that people will sometimes pay more than they should for something in the quest for "winning'.

Got a 17-year old Honda here you can also "WIN" for only $12,000. Just pm me and we'll get ya all set up.

Namur is a city in France, and the name seems to be Boland, Quinot Boland.
Knife looks like 19th century work to me, what was called a folding dagger or folding dirk knife, but it could well be XX Century work in the old style.
Interesting piece, I don't think I've ever seen one like it before.
Ever hear of a French knife called a Douk-Douk?
Very odd, manual operated, not even a lockback, but with a very thin, sharp blade, like a barber's razor.
The French can make very good blades, when the mood strikes them.

Douk Douk in the middle if all you want is cutting function you can't ask for more. [Handle isn't pretty or very comfortable, doesn't lock, handle is as cold as the weather, won't win any beauty contests, cuts like crazy].

That's a douk-douk, all right.
Very nice Corsican Vendetta at the bottom of the group-never saw one in the flesh-do they lock open?

All are:
French, Manual openers, non-locking, carbon steel. The Douk Douk comes in a smaller and larger size and has been made in Damascus.
