Good overall info. I disagree with some of it. Harder steel is not always
harder to sharpen. A hard non-stainless will be easier to sharpen than a
softer stainless. The reason is, chrome [which makes steel stainless] is very abrasion resistant and sharpening is abrasion. An O-1 or 1095 blade
at 60 rc can sharpen faster than 440 at 57 rc. [may be nit picking but the point is valid]. Still a very useful amount of info is there.
Bottom line on blade steels, go to your hardware store and ask for a stainless hacksaw blade or stainless drill bit. Or [never mind point made].
