Dexter,

If AB/SKM only makes the 9 and 11 inchers, who makes the rest of your knives?

There are several small/medium factories and artisans who make them. For instance, most of the New Age knives are made by MCM, while leverl locks are manufactured by FOX. Well, actually also the 7" and 8" stilettos are made by AB/SKM.

I vote for Damascus STANDARD Blade and one of the following for a handle:
Briarwood
Stag
Dark Horn, with nice contrasting light streaks
I'd love a special 10 inch model since the 9" is a little small and the 11" is too big, but I'll go with whatever people want.
The old 9 1/2" Leverlock with hollow ground, partially serrated, ATS-34
blade and any handle is my dream knife. [But that isn't going to happen].
Whatever we choose it should have something different from a regular production knife.

Problem is "what" should be different. By the way, what do you mean by hollow ground? My understanding of English isn't going that far. :(

How about making it different by using nickel silver bolsters and brass liners that extend out to the ears of the finger guards and are soldered to the bolsters? (Picklock) If SKM only makes the smaller models, all the more unique. All the recent picklocks have all been 11 inchers. A smaller new picklock would be totally unique. I am with Vagrant on the standard blade. What about it Dexter? What would something like that cost? Could you do it??

The forum knife should also have unique stamping or engraving. I tried to do a poll on this topic, but couldn't get it to work. Could someone who knows how to do it set one up? I guess we should vote on 9 vs 11in.; stag vs horn vs wood; damascus vs ss; standard vs bayonet vs dagger.

Let's say we go on 9" wood, damascus (maybe dagger). We've got to decide an engraving but, even engraved, can the knife be considered "customized enough"?

I'll try to ask, but this might be too custom to convince the production to make it...

Dexter,
what do you mean by hollow ground?
If you have an old partially serrated Leverlock you can examine that will
show you, the partially serrated was the only one that was hollow ground. I'll try to post a diagram if I can find one.

If somebody already mentioned this I'm sorry - I didn't see it...
If these are to be collector sets (or even one knife), shouldn't they be serial numbered?
Put me down for # 0001!

I'd like a "Godfather" made by a real Sicilian godfather.

ps. engrave it with a severed horse head.

Falcon,
Sicily is at the other end of Italy from Maniago.
Lots of Mountains and Streams in the north where Maniago is.
On his birthday Angelo left work early and went Trout fishing.
In Sicily they have things like rocks, sand and Godfathers [but no Trout].
I think I'd rather visit Maniago.
