One Knife
I know this question has been asked before but we have some new forum members (and some new knives too), so if you could only have ONE AND ONLY ONE single blade knife (auto, manual, fixed), what would it be

A Randall #1, seven inch carbon steel blade, Leather washer handle, inside the waistband sheath. As of this year, I've had mine 20 years. Never let me down, never regreted buying it for a moment. I've picked out splinters, cut birthday cakes, opened boxes, killed, cleaned and eaten critters, slept with for protection on occasion. It's a great knife.
I chose to write about this knife because the question stipulated a knife with ONE BLADE. If you had said more than one blade it would have been a Swiss Army.

in the rare event of armageddon, i would hate to dig a foxhole with a SAK or need to deal with any kind of heavy work, but a Randall would be an excellent choice.
I based my selection of "just one knife" from the knives i currently own... and would really prefer to keep. Given the need for a tool, a weapon, and all around survival tool, i might be more inclined to keep my Ka-Bar w/ 8" Tanto blade or my H.I. 20" Khukuri. It's a really hard choice, and one i'm glad i'll NEVER make.

TOUGH question, keem-o-saber!
Oh yea, verily:
Assuming this is the "balloon goes up" knife:
Otherwise it'd be the HALOII two-tone...
Don't make us choose!

I love Bob's fixed blades. I had bought the Bear classic for my brother in law and i should have kept it for myself. This knive felt right in my hands and well balanced, just ordered another from a supplier in Toronto (J-Man country).
Don't know how much they go for in Japan, but worth every cent.
Jimmy Lile is another knife maker who made some of the best and functional fixed blades around, Rambo should know. The prices on his knives had sky rocket since his death. Have a good copy of the First Blood knive, but have to get an original.
