just wondering about wholesale

Post by SwitchbladeMan100 »

Hi all, i was recently wondering, how can someone purchase wholesale from a knife maker in Italy? For example what kind of discount might you get depending on quantity? can you give me some examples of how much it would be? thanks.

Of what I have seen it is all about quanity.
You would probably have to contact the maker and ask for a price range.
There may be distributors in the US that would work out a good deal with you.
Ordering from with in the states may save some on shipping and ... head ache...

You tell Frank or Angelo how much you are going to spend and they will send a list of whats available. But the price list you will get, will quote prices that reflect the amount of money you told them you were going to spend, and if you wait too long, that list will change and you may not get what you order, you might get a replacement with out being told. So don't be surprised.
THIS IS FRANKS.

DISCOUNT FOR QUANTITY.
Minimum order $500.
OVER $1500. DISCOUNT 10%
OVER $2500. DISCOUNT 15%
OVER $5000. DISCOUNT 20%
If I only knew!

Frank obviously has no interest is gaining new dealers.

It is really sad, because he used to produce good quality 100% of the time, but times are changing over there. AKC especially has really been throwing up some hot garbage. It drives up costs, because dealers have to blow out the garbage at below cost and make up for the loss with the good quality items.

I personally wouldn't tell someone to loose faith in the Italian stiletto, but expect pricing to keep going up and availability to become less and less, because demand hasn't changed a bit.

Don't forget the Maniago cottage industry when discussing suppliers. AB/SKM, Frank, AKC etc aren't necessarily the makers.

As me being one of Frank's dealers I deal with bad products and whoops I sent the wrong item. I have just learned to sell whatever he sends. I'm easy to deal with! :D

Switchblademan100,

Your last post has me wondering whether you understand how the cottage industry works. You might want to try a search here for "cottage industry"

Ohh, yes i am familiar with the way a cottage industry works. I didnt get it when i first signed up, but then i got the hang of it. Europe has many of those types of industries, more than we do here. I was just saying that Renzo's are good knives as well.
Thanks

IF they are, it is because he got the: blades, liners, springs, scales, and bolsters etc, from [seperate] suppliers who ALL had a "GOOD DAY"
And then had a "GOOD DAY" himself
This is NOT an eternal "sure thing"
