Blade Auction Problem

Post by The Falcon »

I've never been a seller, only a buyer on BA. Can a seller add a reserve amount to a "No Reserve" auction just as it's closing? That happened to me and the seller hasn't responded to me (PantherTrac) about how the reserve was met at $100 but not met at $110. :?

Hey Falcon,
When the auction started there was NO RESERVE? and then it was changed
after a bid? If this is the case its wrong and I would try to get it fixed. I never
heard of this happening once a bid has been placed.

Falcon
It seems lately that all sorts of strange things can happen on B/A.

supposedly you can change the reserve until someone bids on it... if it happens after a bid, that sounds just plain wrong.
Very funny, Scotty. Now beam down my clothes.

I for one wouldn't buy from a seller with these kind of policies. Still a lot of excellent sellers on BA, and all of us here know who they are.

The only way I could see to justify a change would be if the original reserve was a mistake on the part of BA and they corrected it. [This should be done early in the auction NOT at the last minute].

The seller sent me this message:

HI, WE CANT CHANGE ANYTHING AFTER A BID. CONTACT BLADE TO SEE IF IT WAS ON
THE ADMINISTRATIVE SIDE. THANKS STEVE

I can't prove that the auction went from "reserve met" to "reserve not met" so screw it! :?

yeah, the only time a person can make changes to their auction is before anyone makes a bid . Once a bid is placed , its open season and nothing can be changed .. atleast thats what I thought ?

After a bid is placed, the only person that can change the reserve is the Bladeauction Administrater.
